Susan's experiences with the healing that music and sound can affect, although she was unaware, began at age seven as an accordion student of Dominic Miceli. During difficult family times throughout her childhood, her father would sit by her side, singing the songs of his youth from the 1940/50s, while she accompanied him on accordion. Dad always said when you feel sad or worried just remember you always have your music. He saw the peace that making music created in me.

 

This turned into a 42 year (so far) career of teaching music at all age levels, from elementary school to adults.  Susan recently retired from Kearsarge Regional Middle School in North Sutton, NH, after 37 years with the district, where she conducted three choirs and taught general music in grades six through eight. She is currently teaching music at Dunbarton Elementary School in Dunbarton, NH, is Music Director at South Congregational Church in Concord, NH, and has several private students.

Susan's journey toward sound healing began while visiting a friend who introduced her to crystal singing bowls. Susan has meditated for years and the idea of sound with meditation made so much sense, combining her experiences in the music profession with her meditation practice. She became certified in Sound Healing and Vibrational Therapies by Meditate: School of Mindfulness & Sound™ in July of 2023 and looks forward to offering music lessons, in addition to the peace of sound healing, to the greater Concord, NH area.
